Thanksgiving

We were joined by the Ward family and had a marvelous Thanksgiving.

The kids helped with dinner....

 They also wrote with berry ink and quills like the pilgrims.

 They played on the big truck at the quarry near our house while they waited for dinner.

Ice skating the day after Thanksgiving was much better than Black Friday shopping!

 

We were all impressed that my uncle was skating.

 We had fun making snow ice cream when it snowed two days after Thanksgiving...

 Sledding was also fun....

 We were so glad that Jean came over and helped us make a wreath.

 Our new wreath inspired us to get out our Christmas boxes and start decorating.

 I tried to take pictures of Rachel warming up, but wasn't very successful.

Here she is with her medal, but she changed clothes too fast so she is no longer in her cute dress.

Halloween Report

 Pumpkins used by second graders for pumpkin math....then consumed by a pig and chickens:)

 Not sure why I let her have a big knife...yes, she ended up cutting herself and destroying her pumpkin, but she had fun.

 Erin Joy's pumpkin....the results of a big knife...the eyes, nose and mouth ended up combined...

 My youngest's jack o'lantern....she drew a scary face for me to carve.

 My pumpkin...no nose because we were trying to hurry and I was carving quickly. We waited until Halloween night to carve the pumpkins so we had to carve fast and furiously so we could still trick or treat.

 We had so much fun watching this huge whale being unloaded at the Children's Museum today. It was made by elementary students at 15 local schools. It was made by braiding plastic sacks together. We thought it was pretty interesting. They left one side open so we could see the frame which was made of recycled cups and utensils. Very creative and very fun!
