Let the New Year Begin!

These pictures are really out of order and I don't want to fix them.  

We went to the Seattle Asian Art Museum yesterday to begin our Chinese New Year celebration.  The girls enjoyed making snake prints.  I made one too.  It was a fun project and one I would love to do with my second grade students.  

We enjoyed watching martial arts and lion dancing.

We also enjoyed looking at all the beautiful plants in the nearby conservatory.  (Just for Jean, we took a picture of the nearly 100-year old jade plant that she told us about.)

It was a very foggy day, but the fog broke just enough to get a picture of the space needle through the weird-donut-art thing.  Fun!
