A Northwest Blizzard!

No school today!!!  What a fun way to start winter break.

Hermy, the elf, watched the snow fall. He is sitting by our neighbor friend's reindeer. She always brings him to our house to play and then forgets him. We always leave him by that window for her to see when she comes for another visit. Hermy was happy to sit by his reindeer friend and enjoy the falling snow.

We get scared of snow in the Northwest so when it snows just a little, everything shuts down. At the height of our blizzard, we had about 2-3 inches of snow. The snow turned to rain by the afternoon. It hasn't completely melted yet, but it will probably be gone by tomorrow.

2-3 inches accumulation? Does this count as a blizzard?

The kids had fun making snow creatures and snow angels.
The girls helped the neighbors with their snowman.
Sledding down this little hill was a bit scary...they had to watch out for the fence and the blackberry bushes. The played for about 3 hours with no major injuries so all is well:)

This is a "snow owl."  Check out the eyes made of shells.
We all made graham cracker gingerbread houses....

Except for Rachel....she just ate chili, watched us, and listened to her music on her IPod.
We used Halloween candy for our houses.
